Less preferred file types - Bitmap graphics

Artwork should be provided as a high resolution solid black and white image, preferably in vector format. These images have clean crisp lines and can be enlarged without losing any detail. Bitmaps are composed of pixels that, when enlarged, become fuzzy and difficult to engrave.

To have a quality engraved award requires artwork that contains no color, halftones or grayscales. Image resolution should be a minimum of 300 dpi for best reproduction.

Even if the file you submit is in one of the preferred formats, it does not necessarily mean it is usable. Scanned images of faxed or photocopied artwork generally are not clean enough to use. Also, try not to submit web graphics, as they are generally produced in a resolution setting that is too low to reproduce attractively.

However, feel free to submit the best artwork file you have. Usually our graphics department can create the proper type of artwork from almost any image. A minimum fee of $25 per 1/2 hour will apply for this service, the total cost depending on the length of time and complexity of your art. You will be notified in advance of us starting your award should your logo require additional work.
